From 3 March 2009 there will be changes to the way many customers are charged to use ATMs in Australia.
From that date, if you use an ATM that does not belong to your financial institution, the ATM owner may charge you a direct fee (that will be displayed on screen). This fee may be charged for both cash withdrawals and balance enquiries.
Does this affect my CommSec Debit MasterCard®?
If you have a CommSec Debit MasterCard, there will be no changes to the way ATM fees are charged when you use it.
- Cash withdrawals and balance enquiries at non-CBA ATMs in Australia will continue to attract the existing $2 fee as per the Schedule of Fees and Charges.
- You will not incur the additional Direct Charge fee by the non-CBA ATM owner.
- You will continue to enjoy fee-free ATM transactions at over 4,000 Commonwealth Bank (CBA) ATMs in Australia.
